A Florida toddler is in critical condition after he was shot in the head in an apparent drive-by shooting, MyFoxOrlando.com reports.
Eugenio De La Cruz's 1-year-old son, Isaiah, was shot Sunday night inside his family's Orange County home as he sat in a walker, according to the station. The bullet went through the front door and struck the child in the back of the head, authorities said.
De La Cruz said at least two other bullets were fired into the house, but said no one else in the family was injured.
Paramedics rushed the child to Arnold Palmer Hospital, where he immediately underwent surgery. Doctors told the boy's family that the bullet traveled through the child's brain and remains lodged near his forehead. The boy is reportedly expected to survive.
Deputies, meanwhile, are investigating the incident as a drive-by-shooting.
